Fanachu! Podcast

During my tenure as Outreach Manager and Co-host at Fanachu! Podcast, we played a pivotal role in amplifying Pacific Islander voices and fostering critical discussions on decolonial current events and academic critiques. Our platform highlighted diverse perspectives and experiences while addressing crucial issues. As someone from Guam who is currently living in the US, I understood the importance of representing and empowering Pacific Islander communities, making this endeavor particularly dear to my heart. Leveraging my skills in multicultural marketing, social media, and networking, I promoted our podcast across various platforms, and ensured we successfully fostered meaningful dialogue and promoted cultural empowerment through our collaborative efforts.

Outreach Management.

I had the privilege of representing the people of Guam, educating the world on the island's imperative journey towards independence. An important part of my responsibilities entailed establishing and enhancing relationships, both with potential Patreon donors and existing supporters, to advance our mission. I actively sought out opportunities to cultivate new connections while consistently improving upon established partnerships. In addition to that, I played a central role in brainstorming and developing projects and content aimed at strengthening our rapport with the community.

Video Interviewing.

I initiated a new segment for Fanachu! Podcast spotlighting young Chamorro artists I personally admire. This comprehensive effort encompassed networking to identify potential guests, meticulously crafting engaging interview scripts, and editing my videos to ensure the episodes were polished and impactful.

Digital Zine Creation

I conceptualized and executed Fanachu's inaugural zine, “Voices of the Diaspora”, which was dedicated to celebrating Chamorros living off-island and highlighting their creative endeavors and perspectives. This groundbreaking project involved ideating the concept, spearheading the call for artists campaign, and overseeing the submission process. Utilizing Canva, I curated the zine, which featured the work of over 75 talented artists. Additionally, I developed a comprehensive database on Notion to organize submissions, track contributors, and manage content placement within the zine. This initiative not only provided a platform for Chamorro artists to showcase their talents but also fostered a sense of community and pride among displaced Chamorros, who like myself, are located in the worldwide diaspora.
